Thats what i'm thinking too. I just love naked bikes.....and not a huge fan of the half fairing.

I bought my '00 sv650 for not much more than $2K about 3 years ago. they can be found... and certainly they're better bikes than the EX500

Yeah, you could find a carb sv650 for about 2000 if you wait and bargain a bit, especially since the majority of people will be gunning for the 03+ fuel injected ones.
Thanks Zdan for the insight, I was reading up on syncing carbs last night and well carbs don't go bad.

suzuki bandit, especially the 1200cc.

Besides gas mileage, it destroys everything else in the DD catagories. I ran one to hell and back and sold it with 33,000 miles for what I paid for it to the penny. I sold the bike with the stock chain and sprocket, still in decent shape. Oil cooled and took houston traffic like an abosolute champion.

By far the most durable and reliable machine I've ever owned. I DD a 954RR and call myself a ####ing moron everyday for burning the hair off my thighs (through my pants) while my back and neck ache thinking of the joyous times I had the bandit. I do enjoy the 954 the 10% of the time I'm not DD'ing it though.

Another vote for the SV 650. Trust me, it's worth every penny and more of the cost differential between it and the other bikes mentioned in this thread.
