Default Looked at the new SI today

Not impressed at all. After seeing all the pictures of the R version sold over in europe and japan. Our version looks like the aero parts were stolen while in transport. The seats are very comfy though. I was considering this as a daily driver since my S2K doesn't get driven much. I think the new mini cooper S if you can get one at msrp is a better ride.

I drove one. It's REALLY SLOW. I was surprised at how slow it was. Also, the clutch has no resistance at all. You touch it and it just falls to the ground. Not very sporty.

I am a huge Honda enthusiast. But, if I was you, since I already have the S2K and if you don't mind spending a little more $$$ than the Si for your daily drive. I would probably go with the Cooper S. I saw both of them at the NYC show this weekend and the Mini was quite impressive. That and I had a 00' coupe with the smaller engine and it was faster. With that fact alone, I would probably look for a used 99' or 00', before considering the new one. My favorite is still the EG6 Si, though.

I'm going to agree with jumper1564 on this one. you can get a fully loaded Cooper S for ~ the same price as an Si, and it's much cooler car IMO. The Si looks like a 3/4 size Odessey.

It does look like a mini Odessey, right? I thought it was only me.

Yep, Honda dropped the ball on this one. Too expensive for what you get. They should have brought over the Type-R for the same price. With Cooper S, SE-R, MP3, GTI 337, SVT, there are just much better pocket rockets on the market.

Drove the new Si and a base Cooper back to back today. I would much rather have the base Mini Cooper. It wouldn't win in a drag race but it was much more fun to drive. The Mini seemed to handle much better also.
