Look at the Scion Tc for my daily driver
I think my 1995 Altima SE is probably on it's last leg. I'm now looking at another daily driver. My requirements being:
-Compact i.e High MPG
-Under $20,000
- can be New or Used
I think the Scion tc fits the bill.
I've also been looking at used GTI's and other VW's

I'm not yet sold on the looks of the car so let's hold that aside for now.
I think the Tc might be a good choice.
announced pricing is about $16K. You get a very well equipped car for that price with Toyota quality, a 160bhp motor, the convenience of a hatchback, and great gas mileage. I've sat in the xa and xb at my local Toytoa dealer and while I thought the central location of main instruments was a bit weird, I did think that the cars seemed very well put together and made with high quality (for the price point) materials.
I like the idea of the xb in particular because it looks different, holds a gang of stuff and would make a great daily driver for someone like me (who has a 50lb English Bulldog and needs some space).

I think the Tc looks cool, and should be good. But maybe you might want to look into used SE-R Spec Vs, which are surely quicker and have a 6 speed and more power.
Or maybe a Civic SI (the current hatch version) or Mazda Protege 5...I personally think the Protege 5s are real nice, but so is the brand new Mazda3.

i like it--- i think the price is VERY reasonable for a toyota. i prefer its looks to the celica. word is that TRD will be offering tons of mods for the car including FI.
