If GM offered that car here, no doubt they would sell like crazy compaired to Buick's current offerings.

That is with the near 100% tariff that China charges on imported car, correct? At least HK, Taiwan, Korea and seemingly most Asian countries do this.
No, that 329,000 yuan price does not include any tarrifs that I know of. Like cdelena said, GM builds its Chinese market Buicks in China. There are probably some sort of sales tarrifs on top of that amount though.

As someone else already pointed out, the Chinese market Buick "LaCrosse" is just a version of the US market Buick "Lucerne" (starting at $26,000). http://www.buick.com/lucerne/index.jsp
So, yes, GM does offer that car here. And time will tell if it will "sell like crazy."

Also in Japan, they call the Buick LaCrosse the Buick RaClosse.

Andrew - who apologizes. Really. Sorry. That was terrible.

Meh, America generally does get the detuned version of cars. I think when it comes down to it in automotive land, the grass is greener across the oceans.

Because GM perceives American consumers prefer ugly looking cars. Maybe that is why GM sells better looking versions of just about any of its cars overseas and leave us some left over versions of their products.

I think the strategy is working, isn't it?
