On straight line acceleration basis, you would beat a stock Mark V GTi any day (assuming you can shift.
). However you had better be careful once the 2.0T chips become readily available. There will I'm sure be a lot of GTi's (and every other 2.0T) with upwards of 230 bhp and closing in on 300 lb'ft of torque.
Still not a true sports car like an S2000 but they will move along nicely.
