life after S2000
Alrighty, all you car experts...
I have a situation here; I realize that one day I will HAVE to own a 5 seater, but I love my S2000. So... are there any sport 5 seater, man. trans., convertibles out there that are par $30k? Please keep the choices within the given criteria; no sedans please (just convertibles).
EX. A used M3cvt, is not a choice, since new it is 40+. So far i have come up with the eclipse, and the stang gt... PLEASE tell me that my mind has gone blank, and that I am overlooking something that's obviously better. Sure the eclipse and the stang are fun, but they're no S2000, he he. also, please stray away from german cars, as the maitenance costs on those are rediculous. one more thing... i'd rather have the car be RWD - oh man... that leaves only the ford... HELP!!!
thanks guys; i value your advice

2005 Mustang would be the only close call. Honestly I can't think of ANY current production convertible that could fit 5 since the back seats are almost always narrower than the hard top versions of the same car.
As for German over Japanese over American. Sure I guess but all three have good cars and junk. I prefer to look at each car rather than making very broad statements.

Absolutely, I just think it's funny that a lot of people on this board look down their noses at American cars, but then pass off German cars as if they're all overpriced status symbols... not realizing that the American car fans are saying the same things about Japanese cars!
In addition to the back seat of most cabrios being too narrow, they tend to be bolt upright too, so it's nowhere near as comfortable as sitting in the back of a coupe.
Good luck.

German cars kick ass and are well worth the extra costs (if any), just like Japanese cars kick ass over American cars...
Some German cars are as crappy and unreliable as crap, while some American cars, like the Z06, are fantastic.
It's always the MORONS that make biased statements.

Do people who own five seat convertibles actually put the tops down?
Now that it's spring in Boston, most of the roadsters have their tops down most of the time, but the convertibles with back seats invariably still have their tops up....
