The R&D mentioned is impressive and, as an enthusiast, I'm thankful that Toyota saw it through to make it the best car it could be, no compromises.
I would imagine in the cases where Toyota has developed new processes or new technologies, they could sell the knowledge or product to other companies.
Good stuff, thanks for posting.

What is interesting is all this RD, no steel in the car..it's not a big car and it weighs more then a Z06. With all the time it took to make it and with a price like this I would of expected something more like the zonda in weight 2800lbs or less.
It's an amazing car, don't get me wrong, but why does it weigh so much? Don't give me something about the interior..have you ever seen the interior of a zonda?

I still don't think you can compare this to Zonda lol.
And I wasn't saying it's like a zonda. I was using it as an example of a carbon 'heavy' (get it) car that weighs 400 lbs less. I can guarantee the amount of of R&D into the LF-A is much more then the zonda.

Why? The R&D sounds out of this world. It sounds like it has as much carbon if not more. The original zonda and the price of this car aren't that far off.

Whether why LFA is heavier I do not know, but at least to me LFA seems to be much more street drivable, than a Zonda, and those two cars' purposes are different.

I still don't think its worth the price...just my opinion. The customer isn't paying for the car. He/she is basically paying Toyota to recoup some of the money that went into R&D. R&D that I hope will trickle down to other cars...which probably won't happen until 4 years down the line. Oh well.
