One of the UGLIEST cars ever IMO. Ranks up there with the PT Cruiser and the Aztek for me.
Perfect for the typical Lexus driver though... Slow, boring, vague, overweight, badgewhore

They aren't even close in price though.
Why is everyone saying they're slow it does 0-60 in under 6 seconds

Got it. We agree.
And I remembered which mag called the SC430 the worst test drive they ever did. I'm pretty sure it was EVO.

I'm surprised TG even reviewed the thing!

The SC is a small, floating, slow, shopping cart. I would not put it in the same category of the SL
This one looks very sleek:
P.S. Rumor is Toyota will kill it off soon and replace it with something completely different. Actually, it was killed off in July.

Here it is. It was on the list of EVO's Ten Worst Cars Tested. Their comments:
"I’d just been handed the keys to an SC430. Andy Morgan’s phone rang as we headed to the exit to begin the drive. “It’s Harry - he wants to know what the car’s like,” said Andy. “Tell him it’s rubbish,” I replied. First impressions count for a lot’
Roger Green
‘Looked like a scaled-up Daihatsu Copen, drove like a bad ’50s Yank tank’
John Barker
‘It’s like the design brief was, “Can you just get everything a bit wrong?”’

I think the rear seats are for insurance reasons. So you can technically call it a 4 seater. I always thought they looked like turtles. Reliability is awesome though. We rarely see any problems with them. Then again, it is a low volume car.
My vote goes for the baby seat theory (but even that doesnt fit the [cougar] demographic)
