Lexus is not even giving the competition a chance.
If you're in the market for a big sedan, what's the point of even looking at a big Benz or big Bimmer or Audi?
Lexus sounds like it's pulling out all the stops...
[QUOTE]This fall, the all-new 2007 LS 460 will completely redefine luxury the world over. Take off with a 380 horsepower [1], 4.6-liter direct-injection V8 and the world's first eight-speed automatic transmission, launching you from 0-60 MPH in less than 5.5 seconds [1]. There's also an available Lexus voice-activated HDD Navigation System [2] with Bluetooth

Just sick....
As I am one of the biggest proponents of GM on this board, even I have to admit that Toyota is probably going to take over the world. gulp...

This is sick, talking about +100hp over the current gen LS.
And if it's getting "mid-20s" combined then it's in the ballpark of what I'm getting with my 190-hp V6 Passat but theis has exactly 2x the HP of my Passat.
I think they will also offer awd and also offer a hi-perf hybrid that will compete with the V12 cars on power.
If only they can keep the weigh down around 4200 - 4400 lbs and keep the price down a bit. For reference the 750i/750iL start at $71k/$75K range. So long as they've been around the LS has been cheaper than the 7-series, S-class and A8s

I think the exterior is really nice. It's clean and doesn't remind me of any other brand. The interior is also good. However, when you open the hood, it looks like you have to open another hood to find the motor!
