Hi Ben,
The downshifting is very cool and as long as you are in the gear appropriate speed range it will let you drop right down. I had a very good time at IRA coming off the ramp onto 114.
The upshifts are hard to feel as the tranny is so smooth.
I have of these on order, coming on a slow boat from Japan and should have it an a week and a half.

Congrats, clutch! Want to have a car pick-up party? We had one when Legal Bill went to pick up his E90 a few weeks ago. We can have a direct comparison right there. LOL
PS. I bought my new car at IRA as well.

Hi Ben,
Thanks
I mentioned Ira from my memory of you buying there.
Nobody up here has any inventory and finding a white one was another issue.
I am buying from Catena in Jew Jersey.
Maybe I can join one of your get togethers in November.
Thanks

That's a great thing about Acura. My CL-S was LOADED.. there weren't any options but the Nav and spoiler. Heated seats and Xenons standard.

That's why I don't like acura. They flood the market with cheap models and gve them HID's standard. They are closing off the rareity of "expensive/exclusive cars only have hids. Theis would still hold true if acura didn't put them on substandard models.

Moving on. The IS is very sharp. I think it's going to do very well for how it looks on "paper".

lyndon, as an E90 owner that has driven an IS350 multiple times, let me tell you, the 330i is a BMW, and the IS350 is a Lexus. I know that's obvious, but it also goes beyond the badge. I feel that Lexus has a great car in the IS350. Tons of luxury items, similar pricing to the 330i, great power, nice brakes, softer ride.
The 330i is definitely more of a driver's car. The handling is much tighter, without any huge costs to a smooth ride. Obviously not as cushy as the IS350, but the 330i is much more composed overall I believe. And one of the most important aspects, it comes with a manual transmission. I know it's not a big part of many people's car purchases nowadays, but it is for me, and for many other people on this forum. I also think the BMW has a better engine sound & exhaust sound over the IS350. As smooth as the Lexus V6 might be, there's just something about the Inline 6 from BMW that is just that much smoother.
Oh, and the IS350 has much less leg room in the back seat vs. an E90 3 series.
Again, I'm biased towards my BMW. But I do respect the IS350 for what it is. I'd love to have one if it came with a manual transmission, tighter sport package, and free maintenance.
