Preposterously enough, HID is not standard on most supposedly high-end brands: Lexus, BMW, MB, Porsche (including 911).
that's actually a great (yet evil) business strategy. entice more consumers to come into your showroom with a "lower" standard msrp, and convince them to get all the options that they need/want and have them walk out the door paying thousands more. it's actually not a bad stategy for consumers either. some who may not be able to afford the same automobile if it had more standard options (but with a higher pricetag) will have an opportunity to own and drive a car that they really like or desire within a more comfortable pricerange.

That's a great thing about Acura. My CL-S was LOADED.. there weren't any options but the Nav and spoiler. Heated seats and Xenons standard.

Has to be a mistake! The IS350 only comes with automatic.

Yeah, 6-sp, except it's 6-sp auto. Or is it 5-sp auto? But either way, it's auto with shifting buttons.

I actually think Lexus is pretty similiar. This is just a different path they are taking on the IS350.

The IS300 had virtually no options. Leather/alcantra, 6 disc changer, HID headlights, sunroof, etc where all standard.

Supposedly you could get cloth seats and no moonroof but it had to be special ordered. I've never seen one in person (saw cloth but not the no moonroof) and I was part of the IS community for quite a while.

The CL-S might have come loaded, but thats not Acura's entry level car. The RSX doesn't even have HID's as an option.

This time around the IS got a more luxurious face-lift, but it is still there entry level car. I think they just leave it customizable for all the above stated reasons.

I thought the optional HID on the higher end cars like the 911 was for the BI-xenon option (HID high beams) and that the low beams were HID standard?
