I looked at several and seriously considered one before purchasing my Cayenne. The 03-04's have the BMW 4.4 engine/tranny and many other parts shared. The reliability on those years seemed pretty fair from my research. Land Rover has a horrible reputation but if you research it you will find that this comes from pre-2003 model years. Have a look at everything and make sure you test the air suspension. Try to stay away from high mile ones as they are flooding the market right now.
I priced extended warranties and expect to pay about 4k for 75k miles. Another downside to the RR is insurance. These vehicles have very high insurance rates compared to other SUV's. I would have paid almost $1200 more per year if I would have gone with the RR.

A few friends have/had various vintage rover's, and none were particulary reliable. Though a small sampling, enough to steer me away.
Why do Rover's have a heated rear window?
To keep your hands warm pushing them home.
