Lancer Evo RS or S2k?
Current WRX owner looking to add to his stable can't decide between an S2K and Lancer RS.
Help him choose.

I think because ABS is illegal in some of the lower forms of rally. Not positive, but I think I read this somewhere in a rulebook at one point. The RS is based partly based on the stripped down version they offer in Japan to build rally cars.
Admittedly, having no ABS also ruined the car.
With regard to EVO or S2000... I can tell you that having either of those cars will make you sell the Subaru. I just sold mine... After you drive the S2000, everything else just feels not as right. I don't know how else to put it. It's like the 3-series of roadsters. I've heard people say the EVO is similar to S2000 in precision at speed. Personally having never driven the EVO at high speed on a track I can't comment on that. It did feel very nice at 8/10ths though.
Be careful...

Are EVO RS really $26,500 like he mentioned? When I check the DSM website I find that the RS is $28,500 so it's not that much less than the EVO 8.
At $27k when they were offering 0%/60 mo., that makes for less than $500 monthly payment, then it's interesting... The only option I would want is the sports meter package; I can live without ABS.

if one lockup the brakes on a light weight evo like the RS with sticky 235 wide tires, one probably need to learn how to drive first.
with that said, if street driving is the main thing the cars will see, then get the either, but for track only, the evo RS will be lot cheaper to build up to be even faster.

ABS is great for the street, not so great for the track. If you plan on doing track days, the EVO RS is a great choice. The can really find their way around a race track.
