Maybe you guys thought that because of the AWD? "All show" is a really bad choice of words, but if your point is that they're not as tactile as Ferrari & Porsche's most focused driver's cars, that might be a valid point. Not that I've had to pleasure to drive any of them, mind you...

it is all a matter of personal opinion obviously but i have always maintained the following:

Ferrari - you are rich, sophisticated, and drive with the same level of passion you make love with.

Lambo - you are newly rich, need something to show that you are, and go to the gym a lot.

Porsche - you are probably german or recognize their engineering OCD, enjoy the finer things in life, but wear jeans and a polo 90% of the time.

911 gt3 or f40 thank you very much

The only real downside I see with the new Lamborghinis is they are all AWD (or were until that limited LP5whatever-2 was released). AWD = understeery and boring.

Of course my Gallardo/F430/Scuderia/etc experience is limited to Forza 2.

Im sure all of these cars are fantastic, and just like any car, buy the one that best fits your needs/desire.

Your statement about performance doesn't hold true for the Gallardo vs. F430 comparison. The LP560-4 easily outperforms the F430. The LP560-4 is even quicker in a straight line than the F430 Scuderia. The upcoming LP550-2 should outperform the Scuderia by an even greater margin.
Today's Lambos are NOT just for show. Even though they don't have a long racing history they are still performers.

I'd push one in a heartbeat.

I wasn't referring to acceleration at all. I am referring to handling. Lamborghinis are on the lower end of the supercar spectrum in terms of handling.

Again, I don't think they are all show, but they are certainly out performed by cars that accelerate slower.
