GM is actually posting profits, though, which means they're getting something back. If they built cars like they build trucks, they'd be doing just fine.

until NA, as a population, figure out how to be more productive, this trend will continue forever.

Well, it doesn't effect me either way. At least GM is finally making cars that interest me. Toyota, not so much.

When the most exciting vehicle that Toyota makes is the IS350, I don't really care if they are the sales leader.

They make cars for the masses, not for the enthusiasts.

I agree, until they come out with SOME kind of Supra.

But I do care if they are the sales leader, because its a race GM should have never lost. No excuses, just 20 yrs of total mismanagement.

I currently don't like most of the toyotas for my needs, but if the wife wanted a new car, (and she does not mind driving a boring car) I would go to Toyota. Resale and reliability are the best in the business. Not to mention gas milage.

I won't touch Toyota these days - nothing interesting. Lexus, yeah, I'd love an IS350 (probably the best sporty four-seater commuter car I can think of, under $45K, aside from maybe a used M3) but Toyota just makes me fall asleep.

I'd take the current Accord over the new Camry, the Civic over the Corolla, the CR-V over the RAV4, and the Pilot over the Highlander or 4Runner. The Honda's typically have better resale (in my experience), better gas mileage, and (at worst) equal reliability.
