Reviews haven't been too stellar. Below average drive the reviewers say..

Agreed, seems like a great car.
I think Korea is almost there and will really arrive with their next generation of product, as this current gen is really going to change the general perception about Korean cars as merely cheap boxes with ultra long warranties. They are now a legitimate alternative to the Japan's entry level offerings.

Yep, exactly. In Korea, the main Kia and Hyundai buildings are right next to each other.

Looks alright, I hate the OEM wheels however. Drove the SX model with the 2.4L engine and 6 speed. The car didnt seem like it wanted to rev at all making it initially tough to rev match when downshifting. Steering and the gearbox were ok and the interior was actually fairly decent for the price.

I worked for KIA for two days at a drive and sign event.
Those Koups have horribly low headroom.
seat fully down with the back rest at a comfortable position, my hair was touching the roof. I'm 5'9 or so. smedium frame.
One of the cars we had out there started reeking of burning rubber, we had to take it back to the dealership and the car never came back out for the event.
Another, we were having clicking noises, ended up frying the auto window switch. Went back, never came back out.
Honestly, I'm native Korean. However I wouldn't ever purchase a KIA.
Same goes for Hyundai.. they have ALOT of catching up to do as far as QC goes. They're cheap but the QC on these cars are terrible, with Hyundai being slightly better than Kia.
