Come on, guys! "Poor" people have to drive something. And for those people, these cars are what they dream of and can have a hope to attain. And you gotta admit, they sell a sh$t load of these things every year. Most of them are "base" units and sell for less than $15,000.00 Can. You can't even buy a Civic for this money. And believe it or not, some folks won't drive a Hyundai for any money. GM builds these things because there is a market for them no matter how ugly you may think they are.

One thing I have never gotten...why do people buy things like a brand new Ford Escort when they could easily get a nice used Honda or Toyota for the same price??? I understand for performance cars like the S2K and Vette and on up the scale, you are scared of what the previous owner did. But c'mon! A used Honda will still be way more reliable than the lowest-end Ford or Chevy econobox. Bah! I know, I've been there as a high school and college student for the past eight years. I had a couple of Preludes which served me very well both of which were very used when I bought them.
