Default Just a thought and only that.

i was thinking the other day that it would be pretty cool if someone put a dump truck turbo on their car, then i thought "the spool time would take forever". So then i thought, what if you put a smaller turbo (<t3) inline (in front) of the big turbo to get it to spool quicker. would this work?

like i said this was me being bored on a long drive home, i would never do it, nor even attempt it. So please excuse this if its a n00b question, just trying to think of something different.

Are you talking about sequential turbos? Yea it's been done numerous times on factory cars.

Been done back in the hot rod/muscle car days where guys would throw on huge turbos or truck blowers onto their cars, on little 4 bangers not very useful.
Yeah, sequential and twin charging has already been done.

look up bob norwood. he had a turboed ferrari drag car that had a centrifugal blower made from the turbo off of a diesel locomotive. not what you are talking about but interesting enough. this was back in the 80's.

to put the amount of air that it flows into perspective he said something to the effect of "it could suck the air out of a 2,000 sq ft warehouse in about 40 seconds" or something like that.
