hey guys, my gf is in the market for a new Civic coupe.
a local sales offered me 17k drive out on a 03 Si, I thought that was a pretty good deal, but my gf doesn't drive stick. so how much do the 04 civic coupe go for?

17k for a SI? You should look at the Accord LX coupes. They are not much more expensive than 17k and you get a LOT more car for the money. More room, more power, a more quiet and refined ride, ect... The 4cy in the base accord is one of the best 4 cyl engines ever produced! (excluding the s2000 of course). Amazing torque and smoothness for something of that size.

17k for an '03 si seems a bit high. i would keep hunting a bit more. '04 coupe is probably going for around that same figure, although it might be a little harder to negotiate an '04 civic because it's new.
either way, both are great cars. have you heard the changes for '04 si btw? 5 lug, 16", etc... might want to see when the dealer rolls out the '04 si's.. then you can make a choice between '03 and '04 si, and buy yourself time to teach your gf how to drive stick
good luck!

An accord LX would probably be ~2k more than that, but if she can swing it, it would be worth it.

i just did a deal on an 03 si for 16500. IMOL - getting an accord for a similar price means giving up some features that come standard on the si

On the Ex coupe your looking around 17,500~18,500 for a brand new one. Depending on dealer, location, packages, and options.

But my advise to you is to tell your girlfriend to learn how to drive a stick.

From what I hear, a good thing to do to a civic is to put RSX Type S sway bars on the car. Handling improves noticably.

Broke the engine in (1000miles) and was sooo excited. Went to the nearest highway and drove like a mad man. The engine has a nice deep tone to it and itz actually pretty loud. Fastest I went was 118mph and I'm estimating that the top speed is around 125 or so on the Civic coupe EX.
