Thing is, a lot of S2k folks stepped out of Civics and old Accords -- so to them the S2000 is fast ...
It's all relative.

I stepped out of a bmw 740i, a dodge stealth tt, and a 350z... yes, I'd have to say that by today's standards... the s2000 is "quick"

the S is not a fast car... a turbo may make it fast, but then it will cease being an S
the S is a faily quick, snappy, tossable, roadster that is nice step above the Miata in luxury and performance. also, this being a Honda, I had illusions of Honda reliability... this thing is no Civic, though

the new Jeep Cherokee SRT 8. ... "Sub 5 second 0-60."
to me, its easier to make a car go fast in a straight line than to make it turn fast.
and the same goes for driving skills as well

I have never understood these types of vehicles. Typhoons, Lightnings, yada yada. They come with a steep price tag, are not really very practical and don't do most day to day duty as well as their utilitarian siblings. The automakers sell a few, don't make a lot of money and cancel them a couple years later.
I think they just do it for press. Most of these end up a few years later in low rent apartment complexes and trailer parks driven by some guy with the biggest mullet you have ever seen.
They might be fun, but you can have more fun for the dollar imho.

I saw a commercial for the new Jeep Cherokee SRT 8. The commercial boasted a "Sub 5 second 0-60." That's enough to bring a tear to my eye, no SUV should be quicker than my S2000!!!
