I agree, I'm very impressed with the strides Hyundai apparently is making with their vehicle quality. Now, they just need to start making some EXCITING cars.

I think there is something seriously wrong with the way they (J.D.Power) placed the various cars. It seems like they wanted certain cars to win, and then placed these cars in arbitrary categories. For example, under Entry Luxury Car, the Ford Thunderbird was ranked second between the Acura TSX and the Cadillac CTS. Who would ever consider the Thunderbird in this group of cars? Likewise, in the Premium Luxury Cars, they ranked the Lexus SC430 above the Lexus LS430 and the Dadillac XLR. Again, who would think of the SC430 as a Premium Luxury Car?
I no longer trust the J.D.Power surveys.

While our replacment Accord has no issues with vibrations and noises (like our poor '03), it does suffer quite a bit with POOR build quality. While cleaning it, I have found quite a few flaws and imperfections within the paint, body, wheels and more. The passenger's side rear door had to be adjusted because the door edge was touching the body panel. That *should* have been caught by the QC folks in Marysville, but was not.
The door was adjusted, but we now have a 1/4 inch gap at the top and water flows in between the door jamb. Not into the interior, but it should'nt be flowing into the door jamb either. I'll have to see what can be done to correct it.
And that's just our Accord. Am I being too picky on a $26k sedan, maybe, but knowing I could have spent the same amount on competition (or less) and would find nearly anything is a bit discomforting. Not to mention that the other Honda's we have owned have never *NEVER* had issues with build quality. Sad.
And get this, folks often share the stories of seeing the differences with Japanese-built CRV's compared to the UK-built CRV's now coming into the US. I'll call my local dealer today and see if they have one CRV from each place and take photos to prove the build quality issue.

Notice on the survey that the accord did not make the list, but the plant that produces the accord in JAPAN did make the list. What does that mean? The American built accord is not as well built the japenese built one?
