My hunch is that this will be a track king in the future is that it’s engineered with:
*50-50 Weight Distribution
*Double Wishbone Suspension
*Aluminum Chassis & Body
*Active Differential or Limited Slip
*Robust Engine and Transmission
Once enthusiasts start tweaking the car for the track, they’ll have a perfect slate to building their heart’s content. I am sure a lot of weight can be stripped from the car. As it stands now, this car is wider than the Boxster or 911 hence it’s higher weight.

The only british car I've seriously considered owning is a lotus but I like this jag. It's got the looks, character, reasonable performance, drop top, and a proper transmission. If these are as fairly priced as most jags are when 3-5 years old, I will seriously consider picking one up and that is a first for a jag (although I love the older XJ's and the brand new one).

OMG someone gets it.
Autocar spoke with Adrian Hallmark, Jaguar global brand director, who stated that a true sports car needs a manual gearbox, and it sounds like a three-pedal transmission with "a minimum of six speeds" will make it into the Jaguar lineup soon.

What about an F-type vs. an XKR-S? That's one tough choice, but they are different cars. I am curious to see what the XKR-S will sell for in a few years. Then again, in a few year the Alfa 4C may be a reality, but not holding my breathe.
