A big reason to pick the Jaguar over Porsche is that the F-Type manages to balance performance with real road comfort in a way that it handles all surfaces quite well.
i would love to test drive the F-Type, and then jump immediately into a '14 Boxster S, and compare the two. i think the Boxster may win out for me...

Looking forward to getting an opportunity to drive it. Jag has types on their own website which isn't too confidence inspiring. Some places have the 6 cylinder engines with 5ltrs others have it as the correct 3ltrs.

I thought the original price tag for this was supposed to be in the 50-60k range because if its $100k why not buy the XK? I guess if you have to have that 2 seater ride but I don't get it.
Also why the hell to people feel the need to quote the first post when they are the first responder? Why quote the first post at all? Its the reason we are in the thread. You don't need to quote it so knock it off.

People eventually realize that owning a track type car and DDing it isnt as fulfilling as driving a sportscar designed to be driven on public roads. Guys get to caught up with what a car can do and forget about what a car needs to do most of the time. And if youre not racing someone, and the performance is your own emotional investment in the car, then what are you feeling most of the time? That car is stunning, like the throwback to he E type rear end. It's one of those cars you could just slip into the garage before bed and just stare at it for a bit.
With all that said, my money would go elsewhere, great design though.

Not much to make it meaningful? A Carrera S or 4S would flog this thing up and down a race track

There was another thread about what cars we invision ourselves owning in 4-5 years. Many posted an Aston Martin. Aston is never going to win a track event, but everyone seems to want one. Unless you've been karting since a child, the difference in .5 seconds is really meaningless for real world driving. Too many get caught up on stats and miss the forest for the trees.
