it's time for a new car
I have about 60k saved up for a new beauty, and it needs 4 usable seats
so far i've looked at a m3, s4, and a g35
and typically, i'm leaning towards the m3
but i'm kind of tired of bimmers so I'm also looking at Mercedes also, and the clk500 also looks nice, what do you guys think?

I have a 2004 M3, it is the nicest all around car in the 55-60k + range, in my opinion. I bought my M3 early 04. Since then I've racked up the mileage, so in terms of trade in value... I'd get screwed. I almost placed an order on a 2005 Jet Black. Another thing that came to mind was that late 2005 is just around the corner... E92 M3 will be taking the 3.2 I-6's place. Something to think about.
One thing about the 2005's though, is the stiffer suspension and shocks, with sport package available.
Out of the three cars you mentioned, M3 > S4 > MB

M3 new body coming out with V8
S4 new body coming out with improved suspension
G35 not in same league as other two
Personally I would wait a little longer...by then you'll have more money saved up too and then take a look at the V10 M5. That would be a car you can hold on to for some time and most likey it won't be updated for at least another 4 years.

whatever car you get, i'd suggest you lease it and invest as much of the $60K as you can. tying up $60K in a car is not a smart thing to do cuz that $60K will not be making any money for you.
