I think he's referring to the M coupe and not the E46 M3.
How's your car doing these days? Which rims did you end up going with or did you stick to your BBS?
I ended up getting SSR GT3s

He said M so, my mistake if he meant the coupe... sorry Steve. I ended getting HRE 540R's with the center section matched to my car (Steel Grey Metallic) and PSS9 coilovers to eliminate the increased gap in my wheel wells. 19 x 10 rears w/ 285 30 19 S03's and 19 x 8.5 fronts w/ 245 35 19 S03's. Everything will hopefully be here at the end of this month. I had also ordered the Gruppe M intake and Titanium exhaust but have since decided to cancel that order and pursue the turbo option some more. I'm meeting with my mechanic this weekend to rehash the turbo thing. I love the car the way it is but with 4-6 psi that's an additional 60+WHP which puts the M3 in the VERY STRONG 12 sec. car range.

Very nice car... What I can say it's a very safe car. A friend of mine had a hugh accident with one and he got out only with 14 stiches on one arm.
He lost controle of the car, the back end has tendency to swirl like the S. So watch out. Oh ya what

Hey guys,
Thanks, I'm having fun with the new toy. Unfortunately at this time while I'm trying to save for a house, the S54 wasn't an option. So I got a '99 S52 in Estoril w/Estoril-Blue interior:
In regards to accelleration to an E46M3, the S52 M Coupe isn't quite as strong on the upper end but still has that lovely low end torque. Having driving a S54 M Coupe I can say that that car is every bit as fast, even quite possibly faster than, the E46M3.
Handling wise (stock) I have to say I felt more comfortable with the M3 at speed. The steering is much more precise and the suspension is more taut... it is a package that works despite the M3's slight porkiness. In comparison the M Coupe's stock suspension is very prone to roll, drive and squat... it's one thing I would look into replacing sooner than later. The steering is slightly loose and not as precise as the M3 but don't get me wrong, the car requires more input as you do feel everything the chassis is throwing at you. It's a very communicative driving experience vs the M3's more isolated feel.
Well, I know I shouldn't be looking yet with all the money saving and such but boy the AAtuning supercharger looks so tasty with the 367hp output it can get with the S52 engine.
