looks nice.

and I like my flappy paddles on the column. That way no matter where the wheel is positioned, I'lll always know where to flick, I dont have to keep track of it.

I also prefer the two way flappy paddles

I wonder how easy it is to do an accidental mechanical over-rev on a flappy paddle gearbox.

on the paddle placement. On my TSX they stay with the wheel and it's like playing a game of marco polo with Helen Keller mid-turn when I'm trying to downshift.

I think you can't, the computer won't allow an over rev while down shifting.

I'm surprised that more cars don't have like the wipers going below the hood when resting. I would think it would reduce drag...
Lots of GM cars had that feature. I think the issue, which the GM engineers should have known/did know is clearing ice in winter driving. Often with the wipers down low it's hard to clear them of ice. For what ever reason the GM wipers also had a park position. During normal operation they wouldn't return to under the cowling. I suspect that would make the wiper mechanics more expensive. I don't know if that was true for other cars with hidden wipers.

Whatever they do, they HAVE to retain this interior (can't tell if the interior above looks like this):
