Default IS250C hardtop convertible coupe announced

Toyota has managed to make a car more horrendously awkward looking than the SC430. In fact it looks like they tried to weld an SC430 onto the back of an IS where the back seats and doors used to be.

WOW, take one already anemic car, add weight, make it ugly, and jack the price.

I guess some people want an even more expensive Solara...

It doesn't look THAT bad. It looks like it will sell. Lexus is trying to get the 3 series convertible crowd with this one. But honestly, it looks too big.

the front end looks nice but what i hate the most about hardtop convertibles that started its life as a sedan is the rear quarter top and panel. lexus i feel would have been better off just making a 2door IS because the rear end of the car is very nice but with all hardtop convert's they have to make top narrow enough to fit in the boot and it makes the cars look goofy in profile.

I think the aesthetics are fine.

I don't understand how people seemingly get such strong opinions on relatively boring looking cars. It looks like an IS with a hard top convert? What's the surprise here? Of course it's heavier, will cost more, and some lines will be sacrificed...what do you expect.

I think the SC430 is a good looking car, although feminine for sure. If you've never driven it, it's extremely solid/stable/quiet.

you're blinder than a mofo. look at the front end, side flanks, "shite" look at the side mirrors.

just because people don't like the IS-C doesn't mean that the S looks like $hit. there are certain design cues that look similar.
