Introduction:Maryland street/track rider
Been on the S2KI BB for a little while now, since I purchased an S recently, and have not been on any m/c BB for some time now; thought it would be good to meet some of you who share the same passions.
Initial mods are starting, and are kind of in line with mods I do to every bike I purchase - pipe (HKS cat back), gearing change (4.77's), brakes (Cobalt GT-Sport, better brake fluid)....... sticking with stock rubber until they wear, then on to DOT race rubber (Toyo RA1). Planning on doing some track days at Summit Point, first one on 3/24/06..... done that track (Main, and the little tiny Jefferson Circuit) a good number of times - some years ago with NESBA, more recently with Pro-Motion and Loudon Motorsports. Run Pocono FUSA as well. Anyone involved with NESBA or Pro-Mo, my nick is 'kook' - if you know me, certainly drop me an e-mail.
I'll sign off with a couple videos for your entertainment.... each is about 15 minutes long and about 50MB in size.
Do you best to keep the rubber side up, but remember the sayings:
There are 2 types of riders - those who have gone down and those who WILL go down.
Sweat from leathers dries quicker than skin heals.

hay:
you did the brake fluid?
i got to this; purchased some speed bleeders for the task and will replace the brake lines with ss (mycar has 65K on it so its time). how did the system bleed, easy? any things different than expected? i have heard air in the abs is a bad; dont let the reservoir go lo. i have done this several times on the gsxr.
thanks!

I'd sooner sweat than bleed.

I never went down on the street (track, 6 times), but IMO leather is cheap insurance against the consequences. Remember, lots of riders get in accidents that are unavoidable since we share the road w/ lots of dumbasses!

I ****in hate this quote. Yup, most riders have gone down, but there are quite a few who haven't and may never.
