This bugs me a bit. These car companies don't think there is much of a market for "sports cars" but then they make one that is not that sporty. When it does not sell big, they assume it is because nobody wants a sports car. See the Toyota MR2 Spyder. Thousands of owners of the MR2 turbo wanted a successor to a moddable powerful (at the time) car. What we got was a Miata fighter nobody wanted and nobody bought. It was also ridiculously priced for a car sports car with an engine from the standard Corolla.

Skeptical this will ever happen, although I think it's technically possible. It's one car that would keep me in the Honda camp long term.
I see S800 styling details buried in that picture, although it looks like it's supposed to have 235/35-17 tires and who needs that with a 1.3?

While I'm no big fan of it, at least it's a RWD platform. They're shooting for low $20k folks. For that price (and it's a convertible), you can't be expecting too much. As others said, this is a miata fighter (at least in its current form). Yes it's ugly, but that will likely change I imagine. My mentality is something is better than nothing at this point.
