I haven't had the opportunity to drive the new Carrera yet but I would never buy one anyway. I will probably pick up another TT at the end of the year but the S54 is a wonderful engine. It has ample power just about everywhere and the 'revvy' nature just makes it a blast to slam the pedal to the floor.

These people were praising the BMW M5 V10 is powerful and smooth....blah blah blah...

Hmm.....5 litre V10, is it supposed to be powerful and smooth?

It wouldn't be S2200 since I believe the "2000" in S2000 represented the year 2000 and the 50th? anniversary of Honda cars or something. I can't recall the specifics.

No, it has nothing to do with the year. It's the heritage of the S car series from Honda. The S600 had a 600cc engine, and the S800 had an 800cc engine. Just like the S2000 has a 2000cc engine. (Well, 1997cc, but those things get rounded off.)

I stand corrected! I don't know where I got that from - I guess my mind is slipping. I guess the North American '04+ broke the mold then.

It's mother Honda. You can't expect to understand it.

Volkswagen 2.0 liter turbo:
4 cylinder
16 valve
Direct injection
280 Nm at 1800 rpm (207 lb-ft)
200 PS at 5100 rpm (197 hp)
25.4 mpg city
44.8 mpg highway

I haven't been able to find anything talking about any technical innovations used by this engine...
