Interiours
Interiors are an interesting thing. Is the interior of your car worth what you paid. Post up a car price and what you think the interior of the car should be comparable with. Here are my recent opinions with cars I have been in.
For me Acura is a benchmark. I think Acura has pretty much the best bang for the buck so:
02 Acura TL Type S

So how did Honda add $2000 to your perceived value on the interior of the 2001 S2000 over the 2000 model? Do you really think that the clock on the radio and included wind deflector are worth that much more?

I think it comes down to the fact that a lot of people on this board look for performance first. Because of that, we talk a lot about cars that are performance bargains (like say your STIs, EVOs, s2000s, etc) - those cars exist to make high performance accessible to those that don't want to spend a mortgage payment on their car.
If cost and performance are essentially the primary goals, then it makes sense that the interior is going to receive some cost-saving materials.
To me, the annoying thing is that there are some cars where the price is expensive enough, the margins high enough, etc to where you feel like you're getting badge and no interior. You shouldn't have to make MAJOR compromises at a certain price level, IMO. I don't mind taking a little more performance and a little less interior, but I don't think I'd want to drive a car where one was truly disproportionate to the other.

This post just made me laugh. The cars that you have in your sig that you either own or previously owned appear to have the highest % interior value to cost ratio, and the bmw's that you constantly bash on in every thread have the lowest % value to cost ratio. I can understand the need to feel better about your purchase decisions but try not to be so obvious next time.

so is a GT2's interior not on par with the price? you can almost get the same interior in a standard 911. what about the f-40 or the F-1? they don't have hundred thousand or million dollar interiors. What about amg mercs vs standard mercs? M5 vs a 525?

I see what the OP is talking about, but the interior quality is only aspect of a car.
For example a F430 is not as luxurious as it cost would let on. Its not to say the Ferrari has a cheap interior but it's not 5x better than the interior from a acura RL.
I just drove 5 cars in the 120K to $400K range and they all had nice interiors, but nothing more-so than you can get in a $50K Lexus or Audi or Acura. So in the metric of this post they would have interior quality or amenities lesser than the cost of the car.
By the same token you can say a Ferrari or Lambo has curb appeal or status that's worth x amount of dollars. If Toyota or Chevy made a similar car to a Ferrari or Lambo it would cost x less b/c it's not a status badge.
Another thing to consider is the volume made. If it costs $300M to design a Ferrari if you only sell 10K units over the lifetime by contrast another car sells 5M units. The Ferrari may cost $30K per car just for R&D costs while a Camry may cost $1K per car even if it costs $1B or more for R&D.
