all great engines, excellent mpg for performance, but crappy torque below 4000 I drive a 1995 GSR and love it, but when it comes to street driving I just take it slow and I don't want to deal with it unless I go all out.

Thanks you guys.....a friend of mine just bought either a GS or a GSR and I am not sure which one to tell him it is....( I know kinda stupid not knowing what model it is before buying it)

What other differences are there in the two?

I had a '95 GSR before my S. I seem to recall a significant HP difference down below the GSR model. I had Type R envy after they came out. The ITR HP bump and chassis stiffness are useful but the limited slip was a bigger difference (I was always smoking the inside tire in turns).

Ok, a GS is not vtec , thats the main difference between a GS and a GSR. A GS is just a LS with factory options , moonroof and leather interior for example.

GS/LS = DOHC NON-VTEC 1.8 Liter 140 hp B18B

GS-R = DOHC VTEC 1.8 Liter, 170 hp B18C1

ITR = DOHC VTEC 1.8 Liter, uses b18 block but b16 head(flows better), 195 hp B18C5/C4JDM makes about 200-205 hp.
