Insurance Question: Anybody Have Experience Claiming Diminished Value?
Back in December, I had a mishap and slid my S2000 off the road.
Everything's back to normal now, but I'm curious about whether it would be a struggle to get my insurance company (State Farm) to cut me a check for Diminished Value.
I faxed my claim and repair records to an Ohio company called Vehicle Information Services, which tells me I've suffered an "inherent loss" of $4,000.
They can provide me with a hard copy report to present to State Farm, but it would cost me $250.
Before I lay out any money on this, has anybody successfully filed for Diminished Value? And if so, how did you do it?
Thanks in advance.

Not only did I get diminished value on my wife's Accord, I got them to pay an extra $400 for some of the recent repairs I had done. Something tells me that it would be hard to do this to your own insurance company.
