Insight EX vs Fit Sport

Yeah, you are paying for much more than image. You're paying for all that additional WEIGHT.

I'd get an ancient Hatch/CRX/Civic. It's basically the same car minus the updated interior/exterior. I think Honda Fit's are a total waste of money.
You're paying for a gutless Honda that looks cute. HEEEYYYY, you can get the same result with a car 15 years older and save $14k + better gas mileage. No brainer unless you're heavily image conscious.

You really think it's "a total waste of money" to buy a Honda Fit over a 15 year old POS car?
Haha, whatever.

great then you can drive around in your 1500lb pos compact car with 0 safety features, have fun if you get into an accident
I'll take lightweight over a bunch of fun-robbing mass and safety features.
To each his own...

I've had my fit over a year ago and I still love how sporty it is (handling). There is a reason why magazine rate it as the most sporty car under $20K and why its been on the C&D top 10 list.
I have 6K miles on my fit and I average 27mpg but I drive my cars hard such as:
Sti: 14 mpg
S2000's: 17 mpg
IS350: 17 mpg

If you really value safety features and having a ton of lifesaving WEIGHT over all else in a vehicle, what the heck are you doing in an S2000?

I didn't know "nicer materials" were worth 8x the price. Not to mention the contradiction of value the Fit represents. People don't buy cars in that price range to accommodate their luxury needs, it's a cheap worthless beater.
The car is junk, MY OPINION. I'd take a car from Honda's past lineup costing $1000 any day of the week over a FIT. I swear to you the FIT is not much of an advancement from the cars of back then, sure cosmetically and safety wise yes but if safety was my biggest concern I wouldn't be hauling myself nor family members in that tiny car to begin with.
You Captain Planet FIT defenders seem delusional to me.
