If u guys go to www.infiniti.com and click on "future models", there's an M45 sedan. That car has the exact same engine and same interior as Q45. What the hell is Infiniti thinking??? IMO Nissan has too many similiar cars, ex: I35, Maxima, and G35.......All these cars basically have about the same HP............
LOL, someone explains........

Well I35 and Maxima are the same, but G35 is differerent from those 2. It is a rear wheel drive sedan suited more towards performance. This M45 is interesting, because as you said, it has the same engine and dash and the Q45. I'd like to see where it fits. Most likely under the Q45, so that leaves the $40's open, fully loaded maybe around low to mid 50's. But who knows.. we'll just have to wait and see I suppose. I'm not really a big fan of Nissan/Infiniti quality and reliability.

Here's some more info I found on the M45.
"Infiniti on Thursday, March 28, unveiled its 2003 model year M45 performance sedan at the New York International auto show.
The vehicle, which will have a price tag in the low $40,000 range, will be built in Japan and will go on sale this fall.
The M45 will come standard with the same 4.5 liter 340-hp V-8 engine that is in the current Q45 that produces 333 pounds-feet of torque.
Also standard will be a five-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift mode that allows the driver to shift gears electrically. Leather seating and a Bose premium audio system also will come standard.
Options will include climate-control seats, a DVD navigation system and an intelligent cruise control system.
Infiniti said the M45 will be marketed primarily at men, age 45-50, with a household income of about $150,000. The vehicle will compete against the BMW 5-series, Acura RL, the Lexus G430 and the Mercedes E320."

i sat in it at the NY auto show. i thought it was nice for luxury car. Has a japanese look to it, a look of distinction not so aggresive, but more elegant.
you are right that I really don't know how it's going to fit and in which segment?
