Infiniti G35 or Honda S2000

The problem is, you can't say one car is best. EVO, G35, 330Ci, S2000 etc.. They are all great cars. EVO is better at some things, S2000 is better at some things etc..
Point is, find the things that are most important for you and get that car. IMO
Believe me, I say it all the time, it's hard to live with a 2-seat car 365 days/year.
Sometimes it's better to compromise and get a more versatile car.
If you can have 2 cars it's great to have a vert as the second car. But if you only have one car?

I was making a similar decision last yr w/ the 350Z.. but after driving the Z, I felt it was too bulky for my liking... If I didn't have a daily driver, I would probably have gone for the G tho.

These are really completely different cars. I'm surprised that so many people seem to cross-shop them...
It seems pretty simple to me: If you want a two seat convertible sports car and you need only minimal cargo capacity, get the S2000. If you want a near-luxury, grand-touring coupe that can seat 4 and carry a coupe of golf bags in the trunk, get the G35.

Same boat here as well. Also in the Navy. Just ordered '05 G35c 6-spd.
Since we are in the military, you can get G35 for an invoice price. Go to www.Grubbsinfiniti.com and link onto the military discount site. I found that just by using Google. Anyhow, it's invoice price for us, but it's located in Dallas, TX area. They can ship it to you for $700 anywhere within lower 48 states.
I too compared all the same cars, ~30k range.
-Mitsubishi EVO MR Edition
-Subaru STi
-BMW Z4
-Nissan 350Z
-G35 Coupe 6MT
-BMW 3 Series
You can get an '04 Z4 for at least $12k off the MSRP w/ 6 yr 100k mile extended warranty. Just do some research, it's easy. They're not selling very well. I almost considered Z4 3.0 w/ SMG for ~$35k. I would've paid the extra 5k over Honda for the added creature comfort and free maintenance and warranty, etc. You can also get a 6-spd 3.0 for ~32k. But my girl didn't like it.
She also didn't like the Evo, 350Z, and BMW 3 series are dime a dozen in DC metro. You can also get '04 RX-8 for ~10k off MSRP, but she also didn't like that one either. I test drove all these cars and RX-8 was most similar to the S2k, and most fun for that reason, and cheapest.
So, it pretty much came down to STi and G35. They both had ~300 hp w/ nice torque, similar gas mpg (<20 mpg avg), 4 seats, etc. STi maybe better for more luggage/people space, but G35 was better equipped, luxury wise, and IMO looks better.
I miss my S2k and thought about getting another one, but no more 2-seaters for me, so choose what you like. The G35c cost ~$31.5k for me w/ only aero packaged added, while I got an '02 S2k (new back in 2002) for the same price but out the door.
So, good luck!

I don't understand these types of questions. Just get the car you like the best. What does it matter what a bunch of strangers on a forum think?

As you are aware pertaining to some of the other replies, the S2000 & the G35 coupe are totally different cars. The S2000 is a true sports car and a true roadster. The G35 is a GT, or as we would say in the old days a touring car. If you are looking to be practical and need a car as an every day driver, the G35 would be the way to go. If you are not worried about carrying clients and you want the best of both worlds, the 350Z would be the most logical choice. The S2000 is a fun car, but if you live in a major metropolitan area and use the car as a everyday driver, it can be little tough. I have a G35 sedan as family car and the S2000 is my fun car. Just a little advice from a Vintage S2000 Member, I've had a Sunbeam Tiger, Triumph TR6 & several older 911's when I was alot younger, and it wasn't until I got my last 911 that I truly realized I needed another car. S2000 for the money is one of the best engineered cars on the market, and truly an exciting car to drive. The STI & the EVO are great cars and well engineered, but they are not sports cars, they were developed from rally cars. If you want the sport and GT feel, then naturally I would look at the G35 Coupe and also the 350Z. Both of these cars can be used as an everyday driver with no major issue of being uncomfortable, and the VQ6 is a very reliable engine.
