Impressions of MY2000 Toyota Celica GT
Does anybody have any impressions of the Toyoya Celica GT not GT-S. Im thinking about picking this car up for under 10k (can't find a gt-s for that price). I hear great things about handling of the celica but what kind of power can i expect from this 140hp engine. How will it react to simple bolt on mods. Also the GT comes with drum brakes in the rear. Is this a problem??? All cars I have owned so far came with disc brakes on all 4? Many Thanks

First of all, GT = Chick car good daily driver but lacking rear seat space. Handling will probably be the best of a car in the same class as Cavilier on Insurance. Toyota dependable, less theft attraction and still have the looks. Get 5sp, auto = crap. the 5sp GT can beat the Auto GT-S if driven right. What scares me is the low cost on those already. If you get low milage one or get a steal from an old person go for it. I don't think braking will be a problem in that car.

yeah definatle will opt for the 5 speed. it will be used when i'm in school and driven daily in NY including the winter. I could not justify bringing the stook to NY with the bad roads and weather.
