It may be rough trying to find a bank that will finance a loan on a car with that many miles, especially at that price.

a used 2003 S2000 with 80,000 miles on it for $18000. Is that price too expensive or just about right for a car that new and with that many miles.
I'm going to go check out the vehicle this coming week so s2k'ers please tell me what you think.
It really depends on area. When I was shopping for mine, I started looking for a car in the bay area because there's a lot more s2000s for sale down there and the few here in seattle are asking way too much.

Less than 2 weeks ago, I ended up finding a deal just as I was about to make an offer on a car in california. I ended up paying 17.3k for an '01 with 60k, extended warranty until 100k or until march '08 and it also had the roof replaced with a roof from an '03.

So basically my advice is to be patient and stay on top of the market. If you wait another 2 months you might pick up a better deal too.

With the credit I have I don't think I can finance a car from buying directly from a owner. My best chance is buying from a dealership.

Really high if you ask me. Got my 02 for around 20k with 25k on the clock. Also seen an 04 yellow and 04 silver with 14 and 16k for around 20k. Just gotta look around and find a good deal. Also all these s2000's were at Honda dealerships.

I don't know why everyone's arguing that a price below KBB is too high.

Of course you can get a better deal on the east coast where you can't drive this car half the year. That doesn't have any relevance to the market in California. Blazers, maybe you need to save a few more dollars before choosing your car. BTW, I agree with you that an 03 is what you should be searching for.

for $30K, i'll sell you my '04 with blower, spoon brakes, coilovers, etc....40K on it.

(kidding)

$18K is way too much....that car ain't worth more than 13-14K.

remember, you can buy a new 2006 $29,900.

I'm sorry to the potential seller of the vehicle, but I'd have to advise AGAINST BUYING THIS CAR.

Why are you willing to spend 18k on a car with that many miles when you can get one with less than half the miles for 19k?

I know Hondas are durable and that 80k some miles isn't much for the S2000. Thats if you bought it new. If you buy this vehicle you gonna be sitting with a car that's got 100k miles before you know it with a car payment thats around $400 a month. And you'll be wishing you hadn't gotten it.

Look for a different S2000.
