I'm a member there, but don't post much because everyone's so quick to jump down your throat for not knowing something about a car you just bought.. I got my GTI because it was cheap, turbo, and had room for my dogs in the back.. No problems yet *crossing fingers*... Body roll does suck though, got to do something about that sooner or later..

with that.
I am also a Former VW owner. I guess we all go through the VW phase when were younger
And i also have never heard of this leaky roof issue? Who drives thier S2000 in the rain anyway? Most of us like myself never use the S in inclement weather to find that out. (thats what the "Beater" car is for) However, i have washed the car many times with the garden hose and never seen a sign of water inside.
I have a leaky top on my 2004 S2000.

I own a 2004 GTi VR6, the third one for me. VW's have been the most reliable cars I have ever owned.

VWVortex is just as biased as this forum. Just read the comments in this thread about german cars and VW's in general.

slicksilver, you should see your dealer. I have a MY2000 and I've got no windnoise and no water leaks.

Anyway, I browsed that site for a while and I feel the majority of people there totally respect the S and they admit it. Sure there are a few Brand blind folks like this dude Obin but they are the exception and not the rule. I would say that 80% of those people know what the S is about.

I second the notion that you should visit your dealer. I've driven my S2K in torrential rain a couple of times, and soaked the top with a garden hose...and no sign of leakage for me.

I didn't make it through the whole thread, but the first 1 1/2 pages seemed quite reasonable. Certainly nothing out of the ordinary when discussing a different brand on a brand specific site. The guy who started the thread was a moron, but was properly put in place by just everyone else (LOL @ the one comment telling him to go back to the Mark IV Forum ).

LOL! What a dumb remark.

Did you actually bother to read the thread on VWVortex before slandering the VW brand and the people who own VW's? Have you ever owned a VW? Your remark is just as ignorant as any anti-Honda remark on VWVortex.

And yes, I took my car to the dealer to have them look at my leaking top. After talking to the service manager, I realized that they had no clue as to what could be causing the leaks. My choice is to either live with the problem or have the dealer do their best to remedy it. Frankly, I just don't trust the dealer enough to be able to fix the top without breaking something else or making the problem worse.

Honestly - that thread on Vortex is better than most threads involving Hondas on say Rennlist or the BMW boards.
