I don't know if you have access to a Viper, but 2 years ago we did a one-day rental of an SRT/10 vert (me) and an M3 vert (wife). They were both a lot of fun, drove out to Hoover Dam and a few other places. Around $1000 total for both.

I am going to a World Class Driving event in June will drive a F430, Ford GT, GT3, Gallardo, and SLR. 5 cars 20-25 minutes each will be 80 miles (?) driving for $1300 so $15-per-mile.
The Elise is $250 for 100 miles or $300 for 200 miles ($2 to $1.5 per mile) 1/10th the cost of the exotics.
Thinking the WC driving event costs too much myself, but the chance to drive those cars is too much to pass up.
