"Until we put numbers to paper, we all thought the SL65 was a one-trick pony with warp drive. And believe us, it's one trick that never gets old. Every time we gave into our devilish speed demon, we'd always be rewarded with an "Oooooh-my-gaaaaaahd!" burst of acceleration that ruptures time."
It should be interesting when they redesign this for 2009.

I think the higher revving v10 would be more fun to drive and at nearly half the cost i would have to opt for the M6. I just wish you could get a simple 6 speed manual for the BMW.

The M6 convertible is beyond ugly. Looks may be subjective, but I'm not sure the styling is even open for debate when it comes to the M6 convertible. Did you see the interior in the car featured in the article? Talk about gaudy. Just as bad as the outside. The best description I've read about the 6-series came from Car & Driver, I believe. To paraphrase: "The 6-series is the best Camaro ever made." I think the car is awful. The motor must be amazing, though. Not sure why they paired it against the SL65 when you have the SL55 available (and SL550 and 600) for a closer price. Nonetheless, on looks alone, I'd rather have an SL, XKR convertible, or 911 (NA or turbo) convertible for similar $$$. Or, you could go rai and get a 335i and Boxster S for similar $$$.

BTW in case it's not noticed these cars are 2 tons PLUS. The AMG weghs as much as my AWD Sienna MINIVAN for gods sake.
YES I know it's got 2x to 3x the power and TQ of my minivan but still it's a 2-seat vert.
The SL weighs as much as the new LS for gods sake.
BTW good call on the Boxster S. I was driving my friends 911 turbo a while back and passed a Boxster going the other way and we exchanged thumbs-up. It may be the cheapest Porsche but it's still a darn nice car.

Neither, wouldn't want the repair bills for either out of warranty. Japan FTW.
