Wouldn't a turbo greatly reduce the reliability?

And yea, that would be my plan.

Exactly. The whole car seems dated, but it still maintains that "classic BMW charm".

Still. I own an E30, and there's nothing charming about it. It's a rickety old car that feels strong and is awesome, but anything can go wrong at anytime.

Avoid the S2k...seriously just stop thinking about it and move onto something else because based on your post you will never, ever be satisfied because of this one HUGE "con" short of blowing thousands of dollars and ruining the intend feel of the car.

I hated the lack of torque until the VTEC kicked in.

From 5-8k, I was in love.

AP1 -- but a kid does not deserve, merit or need any of the cars in this thread, you simply drive up the insurance rates of any vehicle you choose and I really hope you end up in a used Corolla for all of our sakes.

OP, why not a 350z?

not a vert, has torque, V6 motor, and you can consider it as the s2k's rival, so i guess its like an s2k...

I dunno. I like the looks/styling/everything about the S2000 more.

It just seems like more of a "drivers" car than the 350z does.

I have driven many many cars, but none felt as preceise or as "go kartish" as an s2000. and the shifting was to die for.

honestly man... torque is only an issue on paper...
its plenty enough for me and the driving experience is second to none...

all in all, its your decision, opinions are just that, and best luck to you and be safe out there...
