Well you can shave those 200lbs probably pretty easily, and plus this year the power was bumped up to 298hp close enough to 300

hmmmm...I guess its a generation thing. I'm 27, and I remember Honda dominating in F1...I guess the 240z days were too early for me to remember
And JTGC is not a minor event, its a multi-billion dollar industry with several companies fighting it out for respectability and thus sales. Honda is known for their range of reduced performance (all are FWD and therefore cheaper to make) but slightly better interior and build. Mazda is sort of in between, Toyota is the mass car making master, Mitsubishi and Subaru was never known for quality or performance in the early days but they've made some innovative cars and designs, Nissan has always been the most popular maker for sports cars because they make so many :
- Pulsar GTiR
- Silvia (S13,S14, S15)
- 180SX (300zx/Fairlady's younger brother)
- 300zx/350z
- Skyline/GTR (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Nissan's problem was that they made too many different cars. Perhaps they were playing around with new ideas and designs too much and got themselves into debt. I could list the entire range of Nissans made during the 90s and today, its really quite astounding. Today they are a lot more focus and getting back into the game.

A few years ago, I thought Nissan was going to collap totally, but Renault bailed them out and Carlos Ghosn became its CEO. Then it turned itself around. Nowadays, all 3 of Honda, Toyota and Nissan are on the rise. Mitsu is going to collap, IMO, unless it is bailed out by some other company. In all of Honda's existence, the company has never reported a loss of profit, which I always find very amazing.
