I'm not saying the 6.3s are slow, but it's funny how car writers just make shit up. He might as well say they're ar quick as the Enzo or CGT while he's making shit up.
According to C/D, E63 is 4.2s to 60, 12.6@115 in the 1/4.

F430 is 3.5s to 60, 11.7@123.

They aren't as far apart as one might think. Throw in late shift on the Ferrari, and the Benz is right on top of it. On a racetrack, it's the Ferrari. But I'd say real world, they are barely a hair apart in performance.

Not to fight, but the e46 M3 (C&D)

0-60 4.8 sec
1/4 mile 13.6 sec

The M3 is as close to the the E63 as the E63 is to the F430

If you spin your tires in a E63 and you get a good jump in a M3 they'd be the same I guess.

My fiancee has a 2003 C32 AMG, it's real fast but we're thinking of selling it. Takes too much gas.

Well, like I said, on a track, it IS a world apart. But in real-world driving conditions it probably is pretty much a dead heat. Let's face it, once you get under a certain point, say, 4.5-5s 0-60, the difference is more or less meaningless. If you are a street racer, you probably don't have time to do all the stop-set revs-chose gear-drop clutch-shift BS anyway, you are just nailing the gas, popping the clutch, and going.

I've never understood the AMGs. I pretty much have zero interest in them.

I would get an E63 wagon. But that's about it.

It'd be worth it to destroy an M3 while taking your family out to ice cream...

Hey, what can I say... you take your jollies where you can get them.

how much fun can the auto boat of a car the cls is, be? never understood the point of going fast but not feeling it.

your R8 on order with 6 speed sounds like fun. how long is the wait for that?
Dyhapy you're at it again!

You NEVER have a good word to say about any sports car more expensive than the S2000!

I love calling you out every time i see your asinine comments!

I just don't get you, it seems like you are either an S2000 fanboy, jealous because you either can't afford it or don't believe in spending your money on cars with such values if you can or are just completely cynical.

How AMG thinks: "What new model is out....whats our biggest motor that'll fit in it....put it in there and sell it for $100k"
