I would love this as a commuter car.
Sort of like Honda's EV hatch but way cooler. If SOMEBODY made something like this with around 5 second 60 or better (I don't need sub 3 seconds to be fun) 150 mile range and low thirties price I would grab one in a heartbeat. It looks really cool.

That would be awesome, but being an Alpine it's not going to be in the affordable category. Also, IIRC there are certain design challenges with making an EV somewhat powerful with decent range, but fitting into a car that size, hence most OEMs opting to with the larger vehicle route. But you gotta figure if you take the Model 3 for instance, and take away some range and performance, this should be possible.

Why in the world would you make it FWD, though? The packaging benefits of a FWD vehicle (transmission and engine are closer, lighter, etc) aren't the same for electric drivetrains. A RWD hot hatch would be a hoot!

Totally agree, but packaging the motors in the rear will surely rob backseats/cargo space, and in the effort of keeping the form factor small a frunk is probably a small sacrifice so logically I could see why they go that route especially when cosnidering their efforts to keep the car as small as possible. Then again, the Model 3 has a flat folding rear seat, granted the floor is desceptively high on it since almost everything is well above the axles, probably about in line with the top of the wheel arches. Hmm.

Hilarious. Drove by a school as it was getting out just hours ago. I was dumbfounded at the number of obese kids!! I mean I have gotten a little out of shape myself, but in my 40's not teens.
