I wanted a new car, but couldn't get away

I'm making more money now, but I don't want to spend it anymore."
Not even two weeks ago you were pretending you "don't spend money on cars anymore." LOL.
Yeah, a ZR1 is "very dual-purpose" - you can drive it while barely getting on the gas, or you can hammer down. That makes it so much more practical than any other car on the market and keeps it from being a solely gratuitous purchase. Oh wait.
It's a sweet ride. Good for you.

Very nice. Congrats! Please post some impressions in a new thread when you have more seat time. I'd especially like to read about it in comparison to your C6, from both a performance perspective and a value perspective.
Totally couldn't see you in an Aston

Wow! Awesome. I find this very surprising.
Good to hear you'll be tracking her. Most guys I've heard of who own ZR1s treat them as garage queens/never experience the full potential.
Enjoy in good health!

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I hope to get some miles on her with the 3 day weekend I have coming up. I'll post vids and additional impressions once I can explore the performance envelope a little more. There is no doubt it has a lot of street presence. Just in the 80 miles I drove it today, multiple cars would speed up behind me and then slow down along side the car as I was tooling down the highway. That rarely happened with my '08 Coupe. So, that'll be a little annoying and take getting used to, but I'll deal with it.
I bought the car for the performance envelope. The looks are cool, but I really wanted the hardware this car comes with and I hope to exploit it at a future track event. Ritesh, I did trade in my '08 Coupe and I'd love to get it to TWS in March. That may be it's first track weekend.
I needed to maintain my Corvette fanboy position here on s2ki.com so the ZR1 was my only upgrade option.

Did you get the XX84 Option?
Members only jacket.
Gold plate aviator Ray Bans
Fingerless leather driving gloves.
Nice choice, tracked one at Willow Springs this summer. Steering was not what I was used to, nor the long view to the front ( made hitting apexes a bit hard for me). Power gave me
Have fun with it.
