I just got my first bike. Check it out.

Zip tie question has me stumped, something left over from racing? A picture would go a long way or more in depth description of where it is and what it holds together? If it's on the very end of the pegs, then it could have been used to hold some sort of scratch guard, as those pegs can touch the ground at extreme lean angles.

I am guessing it is just a safety "backup" to keep the lever on if something fails? I thought it was common,
but maybe it is just a duc thing or maybe it was just the previous owner (he was pretty meticulous).
Here are a couple pictures to show you what I mean:
... the thing in the first picture is my bicycle seat, just in case anybody ask. I will include another picture to show it,
but mainly because I think that my new bike is so pretty and I love whoring it out. haha.

936 fun miles in the first ten days of ownership -- I am hooked!!!
(and about 800 of those miles have been on roads like LCR, 1431, P4, 962, 3347, 1323, 1631 etc etc --- I realize for those of you not familiar with the Texas HillCountry these numbers mean nothing; but to those of you who are -- you know that they are full of ) I am definitely still a beginner and slower than many other riders in the twistys, but I have enjoyed every minute so far.
... I have no problem with the mirrors; in fact, I like the existing mirrors better than bar end mirrors.
I love my bike. I went to the Harvest European Classic at which there were thousands of bikes... but I wouldn't trade my bike for any of them (at least not right now).
I did not take a camera with me so these are not my pictures, but if you are curious here are some links about the rally:

My office is only 1.2 miles from my house, but on many days I find myself going to MarbleFalls on my way to my office. (I am self employed so I can ride instead of work if I so wish; however, if I keep doing this, it is definitely going to effect my income. hahaha)

Oh, and frame sliders help minimize repair costs WHEN the bike falls over in the driveway or such.
