I guess it's my turn!
I see everybody posting about their 600RR, my puppy was kind of shy, she didn't wanna get in front of the cameras before we fixed her up little bit. I had it since april, right after California Speedway Superbike race. Here it is:

If I have to compare this bike to others that I owned and ridden, it's very stable, no twitching. So far doesn't seem like needing a steering dampner. I think powerwise it's behind the other 600s in class. IMO it's a great bike to start, it forgives mistakes. It's my 7th bike.
Year 2001
ZX-9R(98) 6months and 7500 miles no crash
GSX-R750(01) 2 weeks and 980 miles RIP, never stunting again.
GSX-R1000(01) 4 months and 4000 miles crashed at Willow Springs Racetrack.
Year 2002
GSX-R600(01) 6 months and 5000 miles
Year 2003
R1(02) 4 months and 4000 miles
GSX-R1000(03) 2 months and 2000 miles
Year 2004
CBR600RR 3 months and 3200 miles and still running
My favorite bike was the R1(02) not gixxer1000 power, but good power. 600 handling, felt so light. Loved the sound, and the looks.

Nice bike, I really like the Yosh exhaust. The need/lack of need for a steering damper depends on where/how you ride. Unfortunately, the need for one often becomes evident just before your bikes tosses you off. I'm a big believer in them on just about all sportbikes, unless the owner isn't really riding it like a sportbike.
