If you look at the entire Hyundai family and the entire Honda family, I'd be surprised if Honda was actually as large as Hyundai. In terms of net income, I'd bet Hyundai's ship building company is bigger than all of Honda, let alone the Hyundai motor company, computer memory company, department stores, civil engineering, etc. etc.
Hyundai blows Honda away in terms of actual size (not just consumer goods). There is no comparison. Hyundai is the provider of steel to Asia like Carnegie was back in the American industrial revolution/railroad period. They're the world's biggest tanker ship builder and do quite a bit in the cargo business too. They build big construction equipment, electronics, supply the South Korean Military with vehicles and make some cars for us on the side.

You didn't look very hard, it took me about 2 minutes.

Hyundai Heavy Industries (does NOT include Hyundai Motor)
FY07 (USD millions)
sales: 16,556.2
net income: 1,850.4

Honda Motor Corp.
FY08 (3/31 FYE) (USD millions)
sales: FY07 (USD millions)
sales: 1119,801
net income: 5,989
Yeah, I didn't look hard enough. Now, if one were to add Hyundai Motor Company's net income to that, and maybe it will equal Honda's. I don't know how many subsidiaries Hyundai Group has, but if one were to add all of their net incomes together, then it will exceed Honda's, but I doubt by very much, and I doubt it'll come close to Toyota's.

FYI, Honda and Toyota both recently announced that they're currently losing money.

I saw some older data a long time ago when apparently Hyundai's ship industry was much more profitable. IIRC net income in the range of $9B.

It took a lot...and I mean a lot of torque for Hyundai to pass Honda.
