HPD Supercharged CR-Z
Sort of old news, but I looked around but I looked around the forum and couldn't find any posts about this. Basically after Honda North America kept asking for but never getting a CR-Z Si, they gave HPD the go ahead to design their own version, and they turned out a supercharger, lsd, performance clutch, better suspension, and body kit. Altogether, its a little pricey, but I definitely am glad that they made something like this available, and that Honda North America is feeling independent enough to take matters into their own hands, which could possibly mean more things like this for other models in the future The kit works with all model years CR-Z, which has me looking at CR-Z resale values now. Also, minus the hybrid system, the 1.5 in the CR-Z is very similar to the current Fit, which makes me wonder....

The HPD kits will bolt right up to any 2011 or newer CR-Z and are 50-state emissions legal. The Chassis Kit is on sale now, but the Supercharger Kit won't be available until Spring 2014. Pricing for the Supercharger Kit hasn't been announced, but the rest of the components are priced as follows: HPD Front Brake Kit, $2100; HPD Sport Exhaust, $1400; HPD Sport Suspension, $1550; HPD 18-inch wheels, $315 each; HPD Rear Diffuser, $400; Honda Accessory Decklid Spoiler, $430; Honda Accessory Front Lip Spoiler, $280; HPD CR-Z Door Stickers, $30 each. The tires currently retail for $230 each on TireRack.com. Aftermarket supercharger kits tend to run in the $2000 to $3000 range, so we expect HPD's kit to fall somewhere around there as well. With every box checked, we estimate this car would cost about $31,500 as it sits, or about $2000 more than a nicely optioned GTI.

I don't know why, but I still can't get behind the idea/point of the CR-Z as it's a (poor imo) compromise on almost everything.

agreed. a 2 seater isn't really practical. Even with the supercharger its still a slow car. Id rather take a focus st, fiesta st, gti, wrx, & civic si.

Stop wasting our time with the CR-Z Honda HPD! Give us a HPD Civic Si or Hatchback if you aren't going to give us a Civic Type R!
The Mugen Si sold and so would a factory Supercharged Civic with ground effects. Some Honda people just want a fast Honda. a 7.5s 0-60 2 seater CR-Z is not the answer. Get rid of the silly sunroof, cheapen the rear seats, downgrade the stereo, 18x8s, BBK optional, Konis optional, ground effects optional, swaybars optional. Make it a factory order option for all the bells and whistles or none. Two options. HPD stuff can be dealer installed as well.
